ADDIS ABABA, Ethiopia (AP) — The imperative to address global warming, Africa’s energy transition and the continent’s free trade zone were on the agenda Monday as leaders gathered for the opening of the African Union summit. The annual gathering is being held in the Ethiopian capital, Addis Ababa. It brings together leaders from the 55-member bloc to discuss issues affecting the continent. Climate change and the environment were key themes as leaders opened the summit.
